Star Citizen - the MMO space simulation developed by Cloud Imperium Games - has reached another impressive milestone. The game has passed $75 million in funding, something that has satisfied creator Chris Roberts. Talking to IGN he said:
"It's a little surreal. I didn't even think that 10 would be possible," Roberts revealed. "I'm always amazed. If you came up to me and said that we would be at $75 million when I started October 2012, I would be absolutely nuts. I used to have some arguments internally where the head of marketing was like ‘Well, we'll see if we can do 20 [million]' and I was like, ‘Ahh, there's no way we're doing 20.' So, it has been pretty awesome.
"I'm about trying to make the best game possible so I find it quite liberating to be able, in the situation we have now, where we enough money to build this thing to a level where you can only dream of. So I feel very lucky and humbled and happy and I'm having a lot of fun making the game," he concluded.
Star Citizen will land on PC next year, and when it does launch it'll likely be a download that requires 100 GB of HD space.
