Earlier in the week it looked like there was a glimmer of hope surrounding a new Half-Life game, after something was teased by Valve's new partner, HTC.
This, however, was quickly dismissed as a possibility, and Valve moved to clear up any confusion regarding a virtual reality game set in their iconic universe.
HTC's Cher Wang apologised for the confusion her earlier comments had caused: "I misspoke when I referred to our working together with Valve on a particular game," Wang told the BBC. "When instead I meant our collaboration with Valve on developing next-generation virtual reality experiences for gaming."
Valve had of course already denied the project themselves, and this just further cements the harsh truth that the studio don't appear to be currently working on Half-Life 3. As you were.
