During their convention VanaFest, Square Enix announced that they will start up their closed beta for Final Fantasy XIV in ten days, on March 11. The beta will have a limited amount of testers on board, but they will gradually add more as time goes by. Square Enix also announced a couple of changes to Final Fantasy XI, including a raised level cap to level 99 and server merges - bringing the 16 current servers down to 8. Rumors of that game's demise keep circling the Internet, though.
