The console version of World of Tanks is getting ready to make an appearance on Xbox One. The game first rose to prominence when it launched on PC, and success followed as it launched on Xbox 360 last year (you can read our review of the X360 version here).
As confirmed in a post by developer Wargaming, the Xbox One version of the game will include cross-platform play: "You'll be able to play World of Tanks against tankers on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One at release! This means commanders on Xbox 360 and Xbox One will go head-to-head on the same battlefields."
Players will be able to transfer their progress from Xbox 360 to Xbox One, and if they want, play across both platforms with the same account (not at the same time). As before, it will be a free-to-play offering, as such players will be able to download and play the base game (as long as they have a Gold XBL account), and purchase subsequent content thereafter.
