Those who are enjoying World of Tanks on Xbox 360 are about to get a nice treat, as the game is set to get a console-exclusive map. The map isn't just any old regular battlefield; it is in fact set on a tropical island in the Philippines. The tanks were a rare sight during WWII in these parts, as the terrain wasn't very suitable for their use.

Polygon interviewed the senior game designer, Chad Steingraber, who was very excited about bringing this type of map to the game. According to him, it's unlike anything seen in the game so far. The map is called Pacific Island, and its terrain is hilly. The field of view is very narrow and there are many blind spots. Utilising the rugged terrain allows tanks to go hull down position, which makes them a harder target to knock out.
