Charts: US September

No sign of the financial crisis as the September numbers are delivered by NPD. It's a decline year-over-year, but that is hardly a fair comparison as it compares to "Halo3-tember" last and only losing 7 % while September 2007 was up 75 % from September 2006 thanks to Halo 3. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is a huge success for Lucasarts getting a total of 1.4 million units across all platforms in its first month.

There is no way to ignore the amazing numbers that Nintendo pull out of their hat. September is a five week month, but 687K for Wii is a true accomplishment. But perhaps it is even more amazing to see the numbers that Wii Fit is doing. More than half a million in a non-launch, non-holiday month is extreme to say the least. Xbox 360 sees a moderate bump in sales thanks to the price cut while PS3 has about the same weekly average as in August (four weeks). While Microsoft see a healthy increase their price cut doesn't seem to effect the competition to any significant degree.

We've also decided to spice up the numbers with a few charts from our friends at Chartget!
