Wall Street Journal reports that Netflix are developing a TV series based on Nintendo's Legend of Zelda franchise. It is still very early days in terms of the production and they are still searching for writers. Netflix has positioned the show as "Game of Thrones for a family audience". Which kind of makes sense, as Zelda doesn't exactly contain a whole lot of boobs and beheadings.
Naturally once the concept has been finalised it needs Nintendo's approval, but perhaps this sort of thing fits perfectly in line with Nintendo's stated goal of licensing characters and franchises to other companies. If it happens let's hope it turns out more exciting than Marco Polo, eh?
