Wii U has closed last year with some important news in terms of sales: in December 2014, in fact, the second-screen console established new benchmarks for hardware and software sales since launch.

As reported by My Nintendo News, the total hardware and software sales in 2014 has increases by more than 29 percent and more than 75 percent, respectively, over sales in 2013.

The 3DS has seen the most interesting numbers, mainly thanks to Super Smash Bros. (over 2 million copies) and Pokémon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire (over 2.6 million copies).

So it wold appear that Nintendo are finally turning the ship around, after a few less than stellar years.
