There's currently a bidding war going on over at eBay, where a factory-sealed version of the ultra-rare 1987 NES game, Stadium Events, is currently attracting bids of around $100k.
The game, which was one of only 200 copies that made it to market before being recalled, is thought to be one of only two that remain untouched and in its original packaging.
The reason for the game's rarity is down to Nintendo buying the rights to the Family Fun Fitness Pad from Bandai, causing the company to recall the game shortly after its release so it could be rebranded. With such a small number of copies in circulation, this is most certainly a game that will attract the most ambitious of collectors, and also the wealthiest.
If the sale is completed it will make it one of the most expensive games ever sold, following a copy of Nintendo World Championship (the rare Gold edition) that attracted similar bids of around $100k last year, but ultimately didn't sell, and another copy of Stadium Events (also sealed) that sold for $750k back in 2013.
