Rock, Paper, Shotgun had the first trailer from an indie game called Love today. A Swedish game I haven't heard about before, that looks intriguing and has a very novel concept. Deforming the terrain, building settlements, creating a society, co-operating against AI opponents - Love is an MMO unlike others.
Now what do I have to ad to the story? I actually met the developer (yes, it's a one man game) Eskil Steenberg once at the airport Sturup outside Malmö (south of Sweden) after Nordic Game (06 I believe). That is also the closest I've ever been to missing a flight, not because of Eskil (he was busy talking to Dagens Nyheter's Susanne Möller) but I had walked to the wrong gate (there are a whopping five gates at Sturup). I've also met the Rock, Paper, Shotgun contributor Jim Rossignol once (who wrote the story and has been hyping Love), on a trip to San Francisco to see Auto Assault from NCsoft and Netdevil. Nice chap. Three days of spare time, four hours of work consisting of a party. Good times. To ad to the six degrees of separation I'm going to a Codemasters event on Monday to see Netdevil's next project Jumpgate Evolution. I'm the nexus of the universe!
