It seems that tablets and smartphones are eating away the sales of traditional consoles and handheld gaming devices in Japan. This information was revealed in the latest issue of Famitsu, which was translated and reported over on My Nintendo News. The combined revenue generated by sales for all consoles was 369 billion yen, which is the lowest point for the market in 24 years. The current peak in console sales was reached in 2007, when the combined total was 688 billion yen.

Famitsu also listed the Top 10 list for last year's best selling games, as well as the top sellers when it comes to console hardware. These can be found under the picture.
