Chinese company Snail Games is planning on selling their incoming Android console, Obox, in China and in the United States.

What sounds like a joke is indeed quite serious, because Snail Games is a rather large and successful MMO developer (Age of Wushu has nearly six million players), and now they're developing their own hardware. It's also worth mentioning that they're the fifth largest cellular service provider.

The Obox uses the Android operating system and has a Nvidia K1 processor built in, the same chip that also powers the Nvidia Shield tablet. There is a variety of configurations with two different performance processors and hard drives ranging from 500GB to 4TB. The Obox can run 3D and 4K video.

Snail Games will start selling the Obox in China in the second quarter of 2015, and in the U.S. the console will hit retail a few months thereafter. A European date has not been discussed as yet. The price will range from $99 to $499 USD, depending on the configuration chosen.
