A user on NeoGAF confirmed from an event in Japan that Sonic Team have announced a game called Sonic Runners (rumoured for a few months). The game is coming to mobile platforms next year and very little else was revealed. More details are due in January.
The title suggests we're dealing with some kind of endless runner style title, but at this point that's purely speculation.
