After delivering a quality action-RPG in Lords of the Fallen CI, Games is now "deep in the development" of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3. But that doesn't mean the third entry in the shooter series is near completion. Not at all, there's still at least one year of development ahead.
The game will be the first launching in the newest hardware (PS4, Xbox One, PC), "in the first half of 2016", as the official release announced today.
For additional insight on the team, the title "is being created from the ground up by an all-star development team that includes Steve Hart, former senior producer of Rebellion's Sniper Elite V2, as well as combat veteran and former Marine Paul B. Robinson".
Thus, it probably looks and play somewhat differently to last year's Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2.
First details reveal that Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 will opt for modern warfare in Eastern Europe, with the usual stealth/survival focus and "non-linear, sandbox-style gameplay on large open-ended maps". There's no trailer or screenshots of the new game as of yet.
The sniper-focused sub-genre gained some traction during the last generation with games from this series (more than 5 million sold) and the Sniper Elite franchise from Rebellion both gaining popularity.
