Electronic Arts has announced EA Worldwide Studios, a new division that will bring together some of their first party software houses, including Maxis, EA Mobile and BioWare.

Patrick Söderlund will lead this new division, while Samantha Ryan (Head of Maxis) will manage BioWare's activities. In addition, the team behind the Frostbite Engine is no longer part of DICE and it has been moved to Research and Development's offices, and CTO Ken Moss will lead it. With this move, Electronic Arts wants to optimise the production of its studios, aiming to improve the quality of the games and to avoid delays on releases.
