Siliconera reports that Nintendo are to discontinue the production of the "old" Nintendo 3DS XL in Japan. It would however, seem as if Nintendo intends to keep on producing the "old" standard Nintendo 3DS for a while longer. Meanwhile, we are still awaiting official word on when we can expect the "New Nintendo 3DS" and its larger XL brother to arrive on these shores.
