It felt quite fitting that I was listening to Elvis Costello's Waiting for the End of the World when I heard about this, but tonight the World of Warcraft-servers will be brought down and patch 3.0.2 will be applied. This is one big patch which will make everything ready for Wrath of the Lich King which will be released in a few weeks.
There's a lot of changes being implemented, enough to make my head spin. But point taken, Blizzard - even I will be logging in tomorrow to check them out. They include the new profession Inscription, the new interface for pets and mounts, the revamped talent-trees (I'll be speccing back to combat swords on my rogue and enhancement on my shaman straight away), the barbershops will be available (finally!), the Stormwind harbor is ready and the achievement system will be in place. It will be very interesting to see what achievements will be waiting for me when I log in.
The patch is called Echoes of Doom and looks to be a killer. Here's looking at you, Warhammer Online. Can you stand up to the coming onslaught of the Lich King? I hope so, but we'll just have to wait and see...
