We already knew that properly trained Amiibos is beasts to play against, but we never really understood to what extent. Until now. Siliconera reports that a Fox McCloud Amiibo called WaveShine was added to a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament in Richmond, Canada, as a joke.
But as it turned out, the level 50 Amiibo was a monster, and the custom AI managed to win its way up to the Losers Barcket Semi-Finals, where the fun ended after being knocked out by Firefly, one of the region's best Super Smash Bros. Brawl players.
So there you have it, get an Amiibo, train it and you will surely do well against human opponents as well by training against it. Those little plastic toys aren't nearly as cute as they look when you face them in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
