If you're among those that enjoy a classic adventure game, and you're particularly excited at the prospect of a spiritual successor to the 1987 classic, Maniac Mansion, then you'll be pleased to hear that Thimbleweed Park will get made after the game passed its funding target on Kickstarter.
Developed by genre heavyweights Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick, the point and click adventure has already managed to pass its funding goal, and has managed to do so in less than one week. There's still 23 days of campaign to go, and so the aim now is to hit some of the title's stretch goals.
"The support has been overwhelming and it's making us giddy," Gilbert said. "Before launching this Kickstarter, Gary and I debated endlessly if people would want a game that felt like it was made in 1987. A game made at the beginning of the golden era of point & click adventures. I think we have our answer. All 10,000+ of them. It's now on the stretch goals and some translations, mobile ports, full voice and maybe more."
