The professional Counter-Strike scene is currently dealing with a huge scandal where two pro teams Titan and Epsilon have been banned from the pro circuit shortly before the start of the biggest yearly tournament Dreamhack Open: Winter. The reason is that team members have been found guilty of having used in-game-cheating to win. PC-Gamer reported that in addition to removing high-profile players from a major event, the sanctions have "created a cloud of suspicion around other teams of players" The first player to be banned claimed that as much as 40 percent of the pro scene is using hacks. This isn't the first time pro players have been banned, but the timing is really bad...
E-sports is certainly looking more and more like traditional sports by the day...
