The folks over at Guinness World Records have named Call of Duty - of which the latest iteration, Advanced Warfare, was made available at the start of the month - as the Best Ever Gaming Series. The announcement was made on the Guinness World Records 2015 Gamers' Edition's website, where Guinness World Records Editor-in-Chief, Craig Glenday, said: "More than 5,000 fans of the book from 140 countries across the world took to an online poll to vote for their favourite games, and the top 50 record-breaking games were featured in the book".
Let's take a look to the first 10 positions:
Call of Duty
Super Mario Bros.
Minecraft
Grand Theft Auto
Halo
The Legend of Zelda
FIFA
Assassin's Creed
Battlefield
The Elder Scrolls
We have to say we're kind of surprised at the outcome. Then again a survey of 5,000 isn't exactly the final word on what's what, is it? We're also not sure that a survey should serve as material for any kind of Guinness World Record. Especially not an online poll.
