Ubisoft has pulled their major incoming releases from Steam. PC-owning gamers hoping to buy Assassin's Creed: Unity, Far Cry 4 and The Crew will now have to make their way to Ubisoft's own platform, Uplay, if they want to purchase them.
There's no official explanation from Ubisoft, although a company rep told PCGamesN: "We've been in discussions with Valve about Assassin's Creed Unity but for the time being the game is not available via Steam in the UK. In the meantime, UK customers wishing to purchase the game digitally can do so by visiting the Uplay store, our retail partners or other digital distributors."
The current situation extends beyond the UK however, with the trio of titles having been pulled from the US store and across Europe (and presumably everywhere else too). It's also not clear as to whether this is a permanent move by Ubisoft, with the publisher perhaps putting some distance between themselves and Valve's platform, or whether the games will become available on Steam at a later date. We'll have to wait and see.
