Just one year ago, when Battlefield 4 was about to endure a tricky launch, DICE and EA were already planning a "more destructive" Battlefield 5 with "more features". But that early prediction didn't and doesn't mean fans are getting the new installment of the military shooter series anytime soon.
In a pretty logical announcement during last night's investors conference, EA CEO stated that those fans will have to wait around two years more for BF5:
"Following this launch, our next Battlefield experience is planned for launch in Q3 FY17," Andrew Wilson was quoted as saying during a recent conference call. "We want to give Battlefield 4 and Battlefield: Hardline players more time to enjoy these games and immerse themselves in a game, the live service, and the community."
These comments are in line with publisher's new not-annual strategy for the shooter franchise as Visceral's Battlefield: Hardline (March 19th, 2015) and another launch date, the one announced during the very same conference for DICE's new multiplayer combat focused AAA title, Star Wars: Battlefront (holiday 2015).
