Shortly after Frontier Developments released the second beta phase for Elite: Dangerous, the studio has also confirmed that the third stage will be with us sooner rather than later. Beta 3 is pegged to start on October 28, and although Frontier hasn't revealed what's going to be coming in the next update, we're certainly nearing the end of development as the game is set to be released before the end of 2014.
