As November creeps ever closer, football's transfer deadline day is just a distant memory for everyone, well, everyone apart from the PES community, who've been playing this year's iteration with outdated squads since September.

Well now players can throw their arms up in celebration, kiss the badge of their respective club, and hug a teammate for a moment too long, because today the patch bringing updated team rosters is coming to PES 2016.

Data Pack 1 brings with it new kits, improved player likenesses, and updated player form reflecting real-world performances (that Konami says they'll keep updated). The publisher has also said that this patch is going to be the first of many.

Update

Hold the celebrations, Konami's goal has been ruled offside. Or perhaps calling it an own goal would be a more fitting metaphor, as it seems that the update isn't as complete as it might have been, and the final transfers that took place at the end of the window haven't made it into the patch:

"We're aware of the missing transfers on Data Pack 1. We apologize for the inconvenience and are currently looking into it," the studio said on Twitter.
