Sony has detailed which steering wheels will support their incoming racing game, Driveclub. Sony is aiming to get "all of the wheels currently compatible with PS4" working with the game.

"We've been working really closely with Thrustmaster on their new T80 and T300RS wheels, to make sure that they're perfectly tuned for Driveclub and PS4", Jamie Brayshaw, community development manager with Evolution Studios, has said on the PS Blog.

Some fans have been frustrated by the lack of functionality of some old PS3 wheels on PS4 (especially the expensive ones), a similar situation that affected Xbox One users last year around the launch of Forza Motorsport 5.

With regards to PS4, a security chip is required in order to connect the wheel to the console, which some older wheels don't have and no solution has yet to be found.

In the blogpost, Brayshaw did say that the studio does hope "to support more hardware from Thrustmaster and other providers, as more wheels hit the shelves for PS4." It doesn't mention compatibility with any PS3 racing wheels though.
