SyFy and Trion Worlds has announced that their unique partnership will see a transmedia event launching in Spring 2013. Defiance is billed as "the first-ever convergence of television and Massive Multiplayer Online gaming".
The game and the series (the pilot for which has recently commenced production) will feature an interconnected world and storylines.
The cast for the series is as follows: Grant Bowler (Nolan), Julie Benz (Amanda Rosewater), Stephanie Leonidas (Irisa), Tony Curran (Datak Tarr), Jaime Murray (Stahma Tarr), Graham Greene (Rafe McCawley), Mia Kirshner (Kenya) and Fionnula Flanagan (Nicky).
Defiance is set in the near future, when humanity is forced to cohabit Earth with a race of aliens after a war. The series and game will follow the protagonists attempts to build a new society.
