Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) have released a statement prior to the release of the official NPD numbers for December (due later today) celebrating the biggest US month ever for Playstation 3. Hardware sales were up 90 per cent over December 2008 and software was up 60 per cent. Meanwhile Playstation Network sales were up a whopping 155 per cent compared to December 2008.
With Playstation 3 shifting 726,000 units in December 2008 the number should be somewhere close to 1.4 million for December 2009.
