Remember earlier this year when hundreds of unwanted Atari cartridges were excavated in New Mexico? Well, it seems there's been a new development in the story, as Alamogordo City Council has voted unanimously in favour of auctioning off many of the rescued games.

As reported by Reuters, 800 of the 1,300 cartridges that were unearthed from their desert dumping ground will now find their way to new homes via both the council's website and eBay. This will include copies of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, the game described by many as one of the worst ever made. If you want a copy, you'll get your chance soon enough.
