New screenshots of Windows 9 have leaked online and we can take a closer look at how the new Win desktop is evolving in the future. Many screens published by the German websites Computer Base and WinFuture show many detailed aspects of Microsoft's new OS. These screenshots are taken from a Technical Preview version that should be released later this month or at the beginning of October.
As you can see below, Start Menu becomes an integral part of the operating system, with a special area dedicated to the reproduction of the Windows 8 app (Modern UI). Then, there are some interesting changes for Windows taskbar. First of all, there's a new search icon, set next to Start button. Continuing from left to right, there's another icon dedicated to the activation of virtual desktops.
In several screenshots, Windows 8-style apps can also be seen floating on the desktop, with app commands for search, share, play, and settings available in context menus within the apps.
There's also a reference to the new "Notification Center", which is accessed from the system tray area of the Windows taskbar.
