Newcomer Robbie Lakeman has posted a new all-time high score for classic arcade game Donkey Kong, beating former record-holder Hank Chien with a score of 1,141,800. The record, which took four hours to beat, is 3,200 points higher than the previous top score.
The small matter of posting the top Donkey Kong scores came to prominence with the 2008 documentary, King of Kong, which saw rivals Steve Wiebe and Billy Mitchell contest the top spot.
Later Hank Chien joined the rivalry, with the record passing between the three players. Now Lakeman has made it a four-way tussle with his new high score. For more details on the record-breaking attempt, check out the Donkey Kong Blog.
