Few things bring a stronger sense of nostalgia than seeing turtles wearing blindfolds. Why people would want to blindfold turtles, we can't tell, but the first thing that pops into my head is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Those who, like us, have grown up watching the animated show, the original films, and playing the SNES classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time, will be pleased to hear that WayForward are currently working on a side-scrolling action adventure featuring our beloved shelled superheroes entitled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Danger of the Ooze, and best of all, it has nothing to do with the recent film.

The game will bridge the story gap between the second and third seasons of Nickelodeon's popular animated series and will see Shredder and Tiger Claw ravage the streets of New York along with a band of mutants, forcing the Turtles to respond.

As you'd expect, all four Ninja Turtles are playable and the non-linear game world is said to reward exploration and encourage creative thinking. Whether WayForward manages to capture some of the charm of the nostalgia laden classic remains to be seen but PS3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo 3DS players will find out come autumn.
