Rebellion have grown into one of if not the largest independently owned games developer in Europe over the last few years, but now trouble has come to the Aliens vs. Predator developer as well. With the lease on Rebellion's Derby facilities running they seem to be looking into consolidating operations at their Oxford and Runcorn offices. The Derby operation was most recently responsible for the mediocre Rogue Warrior and used to be known as Core Design and owned by Eidos. Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley released the following statement:
"We are very excited about the expansion of our Oxford offices, the home of Aliens vs. Predator. Recruitment is ongoing both in Oxford and in Runcorn. However, growth is sometimes painful, never more so than in the current climate and we have had to take a long hard look at how we operate our studio network. Strategically we have decided to review the need for the Derby facilities, and consultation with staff at Derby is ongoing."
