The Twitch profiles for both PlayStation and Xbox (and the ESL for that matter) were hacked by someone who posted messages, slurs and offensive remarks on the pages for all to see.

Existing highlights had their titles and descriptions altered, there were fake game announcements (sorrry, there's no news regarding Fallout 4), and both platform holders were taunted about the exclusivity deal over Rise of the Tomb Raider.

A Twitch rep told Polygon that they thought the incident happened during Gamescom, by someone who gained access to unattended computers for each of the affected parties.

"We're deleting the offensive VODs as soon as we find them and are alerting individual teams at the venue," said an email from Twitch. "As a precautionary measure, we temporarily removed highlights and past broadcasts for those channels since it's in the early hours of the morning in Cologne."
