Microsoft announced a new service called Xbox Game Room at CES. The service will allow players to download retro titles and play them in a virtual game room that you navigate with your avatar. Titles will be priced at 240 points (400 points if you want to play them on both PC and Xbox 360), and you can also opt to buy a credit (old school style) for 40 points.
The first 30 titles ready at launch are:

The service will launch with 30 titles this spring with the ambition of having 1000 titles in three years.
