EA Access is the recently announced subscription service for Xbox One (Sony turned down the chance of having it on PS4, saying they felt it wasn't good value for their customers), whereby gamers pay either a monthly or yearly fee for access to "vault" titles, the first batch of which includes FIFA 14 and Battlefield 4, with more to follow.
Since the announcement, EA COO Peter Moore has confirmed a few details, such as a growing lineup of games, and the fact that once added, games will remain there: "New game additions will be determined by franchise and timing," he told CVG.
"We have to make decisions along that way, so there's no template, like 30 days after a game ships it goes into the Vault. I think one of the key things is that once a game goes into the Vault it stays there, it's not going to be taken out, that's a commitment we've made."
"The Vault will get its share of triple-A titles," Moore also said. "We haven't made any announcements to that extent about exactly when, where and how, but the Vault will be substantial."
When asked about Sony's comments on the service, Moore replied: "It's tough for me to comment on Sony's comments. I think they made themselves pretty clear."
EA's new service is currently in beta on Xbox One, and costs either £3.99 a month or £19.99 a year.
