Sega's profits drop sharply

No big releases in recent months impacts income.

Sega has reported new financial figures which don't make for happy reading. The company turned over revenue of £509 million in the last three months (that's slightly less than the £522 million made in the same period last year). While those figures are certainly comparable, the company's overheads ate into profits this time around, and last year's £74.5 million is now "just" £32 million. That drop is most likely because of the distinct lack of major releases during the last few months (all they've managed is a few mobile games), with their next big game - Alien: Isolation - set to land in October.
