We recently reported that a new subscription service - called EA All Access - is on its way to Xbox One. This programme will allow members (in exchange for $4.99/month or $29.99/year) access to a vault which includes titles such as FIFA 14, Peggle 2, and Madden NFL 25, and that will offer additional discounts and early access.
After this news broke, gamers started to wonder how this new feature might appear on other platforms that have a subscription plan, as is the case with PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 (in the form of PlayStation Plus). Since these questions have been raised, Sony has moved to reassure their users through a spokesman (via GameInformer), who said:
"We evaluated the EA Access subscription offering and decided that it does not bring the kind of value PlayStation customers have come to expect".
"PlayStation Plus memberships are up more than 200% since the launch of PlayStation 4, which shows that gamers are looking for memberships that offer a multitude of services, across various devices, for one low price. We don't think asking our fans to pay an additional $5 a month for this EA-specific program represents good value to the PlayStation gamer."
