Microsoft is producing the live-action show, Halo: Nightfall, together with Ridley Scott and his production company, Scott Free Productions, the Halo Developer 343 Industries, and Xbox Entertainment Studios.

At Comic-Con in San Diego the first image was revealed, and it shows Mike Colter in the role of Agent Locke.

Halo: Nightfall's director is Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, known for his work on Battlestar Galactica and Heroes. The short sci-fi show will fill the gap between Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians, and it is made for people who might be new to Halo.

The new series will come as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which is released in November for Xbox One and includes HD editions of Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4, as well as the multiplayer maps for all four of those games.
