Yesterday Satya Nadella, Microsoft's CEO, announced that 18,000 employees will be cut from the company in the next few months. As a consequence, Xbox Entertainment Studios, the division established to create original programming for Xbox, will be shut down, but as confirmed by Polygon, its closing won't impact the development of Quantum Break, Remedy Entertainment's live action TV show-video game hybrid.

As a Microsoft spokesperson reassured, Quantum Break "will be released next year and the game and show both remain on track".

"The news of Xbox Entertainment Studios has not impacted our progress and we're excited to share more details of Quantum Break at Gamescom in August", the statement reads.

Quantum Break's development has been troubled since its first announce. After frequent delays, recently the game slipped into 2015 for some unclear reasons. Statements like the one above can sometimes be a bit misleading, but here's hoping there really is no impact to Quantum Break from this.
