Activision wanted to reinvent their previously so successful Tony Hawk series this year after not releasing a title in the main series last year. They came up with Tony Hawk: Ride and the big plastic skateboard controller. But it seems that this is not what the consumer wanted as the game struggled during its first month on the U.S. market.

A total of 114000 copies were sold across all platforms with most sales coming on the Nintendo Wii (67000) - perhaps the most plastic peripheral friendly audience at the moment. With critics panning the game across the board and Tony Hawk recently coming out and saying he was proud of the product could this be the end of the Tony Hawk series? Perhaps.
