In a move to undermine GAME's recent recovery, supermarket giant Tesco has slashed prices on many popular titles, as they look to win over even more market share from the struggling retailer.
Mass Effect 3 and SSX are both being offered for a measly £24.91, and Street Fighter X Tekken and Saints Row: The Third are just £21.91.
Tesco are also looking at establishing themselves as a force in the pre-order market; offering Diablo 3 for £32.91, and Prototype 2 and Max Payne 3 for £37.91.
Tesco obviously fancy moving in on GAME's long-established territory, and now would seem to be the perfect time to make a move with the once dominant retailer still gathering their strength after coming out of administration over the weekend.
This isn't the first time that the supermarket has made aggressive moves in the video games industry. In the advert below, Tesco clearly described themselves as ‘The Home of Gaming' following GAME's near collapse. But both this campaign, and ShopTo's attempts at wrestling over some market share pale in significance to Blockbusters attempt (viewable here).
