Reports are emerging that Microsoft are planning on launching the successor to Xbox 360 in time for Christmas 2013.
The report from VG247 states that the new machine will come equipped with a Blu-ray drive, an assessment at odds with recent reports.
VG247 revealed they had multiple sources that were suggesting the new Xbox will have two GPUs and will have graphical capabilities similar to AMD's 7000 series. There was also speculation that the new console will have either a quad or a six core processor, with memory dedicated for both the Kinect (which will come built-in and as standard) and the operating system.
Details of the new Xbox come following a similar revelation about the Playstation 4; last week it was suggested that Sony are working to a very similar schedule as Microsoft.
