Anyone who played real-time strategy games in the 90s will no doubt remember Bitmap Bothers' Z: The Game. It was a quirky alternative to Command & Conquer and Warcraft, and it proved very popular with gamers.
If that thought stirred some memories in you, then you might be pleased to hear that Z: The Game has being re-released by Kavcom, with the latest version now available on the Mac App Store. The game hit virtual stores just a couple of days ago now, and it's selling for £4.99.
Mike Montgomery, one of the founders and sole owner of The Bitmap Brothers, said: "With Z: The Game on Mac, we've been faithful to every last detail; from the spoken robot voice commands, right through to the range of hardware and factories that players can build and cultivate during battle."
"Whilst the Mac trackpad interface enables the player to revel in the frenetic gameplay which is at the very core of the Z experience. We're confident the gameplay of Z: The Game on Mac, combined with the charm of Commander Zod, will seduce fans, new and old."
With over 20 levels, five varied planets/settings, 6 different robot soldiers and a variety of other features, Z: The Game still looks good after all these years.
