Cowen and Company analyst Doug Creutz has offered some insight into the upcoming autumn / Christmas sales period, and suggests that Bungie's forthcoming online epic Destiny will quite possibly be the best-selling title of 2014.
The analysis is based on the number of pre-orders collected from thousands of specialist stores and from Amazon, along with information from various reports. According to Creutz Destiny sales will surpass Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and he believes that 15 million copies sold (total) is not an impossibility. With those kinds of numbers Destiny would be Bungie's biggest hit ever.
These are the games that Cowen thinks will be the best-selling titles of the autumn period:
1. Destiny
2. Halo: The Master Chief Collection
3. Assassin's Creed Unity
4. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
5. Far Cry 4
Destiny is set to land on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on September 9, and the game will go into beta on PlayStation on July 17, and in late July on Xbox platforms.
