During our E3 interview with Xbox product marketing director Jim McMullin, the Microsoft man had plenty to say about the planned September launch of Xbox One in the Nordic countries.
"The feedback from gamers and from the sort of core gaming community, in terms of anticipating Xbox One, has been huge," he told us. "We're really excited about it and we really hope it goes well. We've always done relatively well in Sweden and the Nordic countries, in terms of the types of games played, in terms of the exclusives that we have in first and third-party in things like FIFA Ultimate Team with Legends."
He continued: "Those are the kind of things we think are going to make us really resonate with those gamers. But we're going to continue to update even before the launch, so that it's as good as it can be."
When we asked whether the platform holder had planned around the September release by bringing in additional titles to make for a more interesting launch, McMullin noted that period of the year is already a busy one when it comes to release schedules, but he did say the following:
"I think that we're launching as soon as we can, I think that we want the best experience for launch, I also think that those big titles [Forza Horizon 2, Dance Central] are going to be really exciting."
Xbox One is set to launch the Nordic countries on September 5, and we await with interest to see if Microsoft has left it too late to catch up with PlayStation 4, which has an established player base after having launched in northern Europe last November.
