If you're expecting the same racer to appear on both platforms when Forza Horizon 2 is released on Xbox One and Xbox 360 later this year, think again, as it seems that the two versions will be different games inspired by the same ideas.

"It's based in the same world, it's based on the same themes," said creative director Ralph Fulton told Digital Spy. "Rather than thinking of them as the same game on different platforms, they are different games inspired by the same ideas.

"There are things we are doing in Forza Horizon 2 on Xbox One that honestly couldn't be done on any other console."

Forza Horizon 2 will be made by Playground Games for Xbox One, and it will be powered by the same tech that made Forza Motorsport 5 on the same console. The Xbox 360 version of the game, developed by Sumo Digital, will run on the original Forza Horizon engine (which, to be fair, wasn't too shabby).
