Reports are surfacing that troubled retail group has been put up for sale. In the last week The GAME Group has struggled, with share prices dropping to an alarming 0.5p this morning.

Failure to secure key games such as Mass Effect 3, Street Fighter X Tekken and Mario Party 9 has seen confidence drop in the company, the result being a terminal dive in stock value and talk of a possible takeover.

A recent fire sale, codenamed Spring Clean, has been initiated to try and drum up some cash for the company, as they seek to pay off their quarterly rent bill.

The report, from The Sunday Times, suggests that the firm is actively seeking a buyer (likely to be GameStop) and has recruited advisory group Rothschild to find a willing party. According to the report, Deloitte has been lined up to take the company into administration should the worst happen.
