Have you also been puzzled by who Nordic Games are and why they were the ones who got the rights to much of THQ's catalog during the bankruptcy auctions last year? In that case you are not alone.
Polygon recently spoke to Nordic Games' general manager Klemens Kruezer, and he said that many of the industry's veterans didn't even know about them before the auction. This, however, is about to change.
Nordic Games has now acquired the THQ trademark, and they will now publish games under that name.
"We have seen an uplift in the name of Nordic Games, and what we have also done is we have made a second deal with THQ where we bought the THQ trademark", he explained
Of all the IPs secured during the auction, most people's attention is drawn to the Darksiders series. When questioned about this Kruezer replies:
"This is where we need some more patience from the fans, because we want to be able to do it right. The owner of Nordic Games has given interviews where he has said that he doesn't want to make a shitty sequel."
In his own vague way he says that they will talk about Darksiders when they are ready, but he confirms that they will have announcements ready at Gamescom later this summer.
