Paradox Interactive CEO Fredrick Wester has labelled struggling retailer GAME's current financial predicament as "karma", suggesting that it is a situation entirely of their own making.

Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, Wester explained his strong feelings on the matter:

"It's been abusing their situation in the UK for a long time but it always come back to you. Look at EA and Nintendo, they're not even willing to help. They will take the hit just to get rid of GAME and start over. One of the biggest problems is they haven't behaved nicely to other people, so it's karma."

He also discussed a possible get-out clause for the company; cutting loose stores overseas and selling their UK operation to a rival. The likely interested party would be the American chain GameStop, although they'll probably wait until GAME's stock has dropped even lower before making a move.

"That's the backdoor they have," Wester added. "GAME has basically been bullying people around and now it comes back to bite them on the ass."
